How To Improve Your Cars Gas Mileage

At CarLotta Credit & Car Sales, we know everyones' money is tight right now. Here's a few easy, and inexpensive tips to improve or maintain your vehicles gas mileage.

* keep tires evenly, and properly inflated. If you do not know the proper inflation, look inside the drivers door jamb. There is a sticker there from the manufacturer to tell you the correct tire size and inflation. A few pounds of air can make a big difference.

* be sure to change your oil regularly. Any sludge build up, besides being bad for your car, is going to hurt your gas mileage.

* check and change if necessary, your air filter. A restricted or clogged air filter can block needed air from going into the engine properly.

* a tune up really is not necessary. A change of spark plugs though, can make a big difference.

* drive your car as if you have an egg between your foot and the gas / brake pedals . The biggest gain, easiest way and least expensive method to increase your cars gas mileage is to drive and operate the gas and brake like you have an egg under your foot. Use each pedal softly and don't break the imaginary egg. The easier you drive the car the better the mileage. Is it really necessary to accelerate as fast as you do now? Think about it at every stop sign, and traffic light. Make a game out of it and try to drive as softly as possible. Two benefits are, it costs you nothing, and it saves wear and tear on your car.

These simple inexpensive tips can save you money, and wear and tear on your car. Give them a try.
