Summer traveling with your four-legged companion can be lots of fun, but
there are some basic safety precautions everyone should take.
1. NEVER leave your dog in a car unsupervised, not even for a quick trip into a store. Temperatures in a closed car can skyrocket to 100+ in a matter of minutes. 2. ALWAYS have an ID tag on your dog with current contact information. Microchips are a great backup tool if your dog ends up lost, but the fastest way to reunite a lost dog and its owner is through an ID tag. 3. Keep bottled water in your car for you and your dog! 4. Restraining a dog on road trips, with either a seatbelt harness or a crate, is the safest way to travel. 5. Don't forget to bring along your dog's favorite toys and any medication that they might need.
