Memorial Day is a United States Federal Holiday observed on the last Monday of May .
Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. soldiers who died while in the military service. First enacted to honor Union soldiers of the American Civil War. It was extended after World War I to honor Americans who have died in all wars.
It has become a long weekend increasingly devoted to shopping, family gatherings, fireworks, trips to the beach, and marks the start of the summer vacation season!
Car-Lotta Credit Car Sales will be closed Monday, May 29th in observance of Memorial Day and will re open Tuesday, May 30th at 9:00 am.

Are You Ready For Click It Or Tick It?
Local police will be on the lookout to make sure motorists are wearing their seatbelts.
The the national “Click It or Ticket” Seatbelt Enforcement initiative runs from from May 15 to June 4.
Primarily between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. daily, officers will be checking to see if motorists and passengers are buckled up through the use of traffic enforcement zones and roving patrols.
Citations will be issued to motorists who are caught unbuckled or are transporting unrestrained children, according to a news release. Children ages 4 to 8 must be restrained in a proper booster seat, and a law passed in August 2016 requires children under the age of 2 be seated in a rear-facing child passenger restraint system until the child outgrows it.
Drivers and front-seat passengers 18 years and older are required to buckle up. If motorists are stopped for a traffic violation and are not buckled up, they can receive a second ticket and a second fine.

Do You Share The Road?
The warmer weather is here ( well kinda) and it is time for motorcycles to come out of garages.
The Motorcycle Safety Foundation urges all drivers to give riders some space. Here are some hints that the driver of an automobile should know about motorcyclists:
1. There are a lot more cars and trucks than motorcycles on the road
2. A motorcycle can be easily hidden in a car's blind spots.3. A motorcycle may seem to be farther away than it actually is.
4. Motorcyclists often slow by downshifting or merely rolling off the throttle
5. Motorcyclists often adjust their position within a lane to be seen more easily
6. Turn signals on a motorcycle are usually not self-canceling
7. Maneuverability is one of a motorcycle's better characteristics.
8. Stopping distance for motorcycles is nearly the same as for cars, but slippery pavement makes stopping more difficult.
9. When a motorcycle is in motion, see more than the motorcycle. (The person under helmet could be your friend, neighbor or relative)
